However, depending on our schedule, walk-ins are possible if you call ahead.
How do I schedule an appointment?
The best way to schedule an appointment is through our website. By using our appointment form, we can gather information on your needs. We will then call you to discuss details and find a date and time for your appointment. Alternatively, please feel free to call us at (301) 916-7774 or email us at sales@elegantforever.com.
What should I wear to my appointment?
You must wear undergarments to your appointment. Ideally, you should wear undergarments similar to those you plan to wear with your wedding dress at your wedding. We suggest a strapless style bra, spanx and, if desired, a body shaper. Let us know if you have additional questions. We do carry a selection of undergarments for sale!
How many people can I bring to my appointment?
Brides typically bring with them one to two family members or friends they trust the most. Having too many people with you can be overwhelming and take away from you experience. To reduce stress, we strongly suggest limiting your group to no more than four people. If you anticipate bringing a larger group, please let us know when scheduling. Also, while we love children, a bridal boutique is not a fun place for kids and they will get bored easily. More importantly, there are many hazards including glass mirrors and loose pins.
How far in advance should I book my appointment?
A normal starting point is about eight months prior to your wedding date. Some brides start sooner and some brides have a very short time frame. Most gowns take approximately six weeks to receive if they are not in stock. Often times our designers have dresses ready to ship within two weeks. Also, we typically have floor sample dresses available for immediate sale on discount prices! Each bride’s timeline is unique, so please plan accordingly based on your personal needs. We’re happy to help with your planning!

Are wedding dress alterations always necessary?
Most all dresses will require alterations to ensure your dress fits exactly right. Alterations really are the finishing touch! At a minimum, dresses will require a hem. Most often alterations are needed to tailor the dress to your specific figure. Alterations may also include custom modifications to sleeves, neck lines, etc. We have the experience to help with your vision.
What should I bring to my alterations fitting?
You must bring their shoes and we recommend wearing the undergarments or shapewear you plan to wear on your wedding day. The height of your shoes is critical to making sure your hem is correct. We also suggest bringing any accessories such as veils, gloves, or jewelry to make sure your look is perfect overall!
What should I budget for alterations?
First, it is important to include the cost of alterations in your overall wedding planning budget. The cost of alterations can vary considerably depending on the dress and needed adjustments. Costs can range from a couple of hundred dollars for basic adjustments to over $1,000 for more extensive adjustments. We will be able to give you a rough idea of costs at the time of your dress purchase and a final estimate at your first fitting.
When should I schedule my wedding dress fittings?
We try to schedule your first fitting two to three months before your big day. If alterations are more extensive, we might suggest allowing more time. Our goal is to time your final fitting within a month of your wedding or event date.
How many fittings will I need?
The number of fittings required depends on the adjustments needed and other factors such as body changes. In some cases, alterations can be accomplished in two fittings. Oftentimes, an additional fitting is needed to finalize adjustments. We will work with you to schedule fittings based on your wedding or event date.
